KINDLY NOTE: THIS IS THE CHOIR TOUR REGISTRATION.
Please register only singers and chaperones at this stage of planning -- it's highly likely that one or more shadow tour options will be offered for family and friends as well, and you can let us know if you're interested in joining while registering singers.
Singers (and approved chaperones): Join Mr. Keith Hancock and singers/alumni from Tesoro Choirs traveling as the Orange County Youth Chorale on the next international choir tour to Portugal: Música 2027.
The NEW confirmed dates for the Air-Land option round-trip from LAX and into/out of Lisbon (LIS) are now leaving Friday, April 2, 2027 (from Los Angeles) and returning Saturday, April 10, 2027 (same day to Los Angeles) with two flight options: connecting flights via PHL (Philadelphia) on American Airlines, and nonstop flights on TAP Air Portugal.
We've secured group airfare on both sets of flights for groups of 40 travelers each. During the first registration round, we're accepting up to 50 travelers, starting with seniors and juniors as well as alumni. This process is carefully handled in direct communication with Mr. Hancock.
It is our goal to welcome all interested singers, but since pricing varies significantly with the number of participants, we appreciate your understanding and patience.
The choir tour starts in Lisbon, the capital city of the small but mighty, historical, beautiful, and incredibly musical destination of Portugal. You'll combine seeing major sights with sharing your talents with locals and visitors alike. Three concerts are planned throughout this now 8-day/7-night performance tour. Porto is the second home-away-from-home base, plus a sight-sleeping experience in a very special small town near Lisbon where travelers can live like locals in restored family homes.
Singers traveling with a parent/guardian or extended family (not alone) may opt to arrive early or stay longer -- by choosing the Land-Only option. No flights are included for that option. Group flights cannot be upgraded or changed; seats are assigned by the airline. If you prefer a specific seat, we recommend traveling land-only.
If there is significant interest (20 or more travelers) in flying together as a group, we're happy to request additional airfare for alternative dates. Land-only travelers, please let us know your interest in group flights with your ideal dates in the notes section.

No introduction to Portugal is complete without Lisbon.
One of Europe's oldest capitals, built across seven hills above the Tagus estuary, the city rewards every sense simultaneously. Baroque churches and Moorish battlements anchor neighborhoods still threaded by vintage yellow trams. Fado drifts from open doorways in the Alfama. Pastel de nata, warm from the oven at a local bakery like Pasteis de Belem, will ruin all other egg tarts for life.
For a performance group, Lisbon is also home to extraordinary concert venues: centuries-old cathedrals, churches, and palaces with acoustics that composers have long dreamed of. In April, the city is in bloom, the light is golden, and the terraces of Bairro Alto beckon. There is no bad time to be in Lisbon. But April comes very close to perfect.
Portugal's second city doesn't play second fiddle to anyone. Perched above the Douro River, Porto is a tumbling world of medieval streets, hand-painted azulejo-tiled facades, and the kind of soul that only centuries of trade, fishing, and fado can produce.
It's the birthplace of port wine, a UNESCO World Heritage center, and one of Europe's most coveted travel destinations right now. For a young choir, Porto also happens to be an extraordinary listening room: the city's churches and performance spaces carry sound beautifully, and the Vila Nova de Gaia riverfront at dusk is the kind of moment you won't easily forget.
In April, the jacaranda trees are just beginning to bloom, the Atlantic light is soft and luminous, and the tourist crowds of summer are still a comfortable distance away.
This final three-night stay experience is not a hotel. It is not even quite a village in the conventional sense. Aldeia da Mata Pequena, located about 30 minutes north of Lisbon near the town of Mafra, is a 300-year-old cluster of 13 whitewashed cottages that owners Diogo and Ana rescued, house by house, from ruin. The result is one of the most genuinely transportive places to stay in Portugal.
Cobblestone lanes, historic lampposts relocated from Lisbon, original wine presses and bread ovens preserved inside the cottage walls. Peacocks, chickens, donkeys, and a beloved pig hold court in the yard. Local farmers still work the surrounding fields. A Roman bridge is a short walk away; ancient windmills dot the ridgelines. It is, as Inside Europe's own content described it, sight-sleeping at its finest.
Positioned perfectly between Porto and the Lisbon departure, Aldeia da Mata Pequena is also a short drive from Sintra and the wild Atlantic beaches of Ericeira.
